Discover Altomonte

Since 1969, the Barbieri family name has been linked to that of Altomonte. A small medieval pearl nestled between the Pollino and Ionian Seas, Altomonte offers the viewer the enchanting sight of the Norman Tower and the ancient church of S. Maria della Consolazione, the stone alleys, the façades marked by centuries, the thousand-year encounter between history and tradition.

Here, with passion, imagination and enterprise, Italo Barbieri set up a small hotel business, destined to become over the years – thanks to his commitment and that of his heirs – a true point of reference for tourism in Calabria and beyond.

Hotel, restaurant, swimming pool, wellness centre, wedding ceremonies, suites in the village, shops selling typical products: these are the services that the group has developed over the years to offer its guests a top-quality stay and an impeccable care in organising receptions and events.

The timeless magic of this land, the unspoilt landscape, the romance of the village involve the tourist today as much as forty years ago. The pleasure of a relaxing holiday, the flavours and aromas of Calabrian gastronomy, the refined elegance of a wedding ceremony by the pool or in the ancient Palazzo dei Giacobini, where attention to every detail blends with the charm of a historic environment restored to its former glory: all this is Altomonte, all this is Barbieri.
